Already at an early age the principal of the firm Herbert Maier used to build houses: out of blocks of wood.

As a child he was fascinated by wood as a raw material and the many things one can do with it. A couple of years later he fell in love with Hilde, who was made of the same stuff, and together they founded Holzbau Maier.

For 40 years we have done nothing else than realising the houses of people’s dreams: with the alive raw material wood, our technical ability, state-of-the-art technologies, and new forms of energy. We have created a pleasant home for many people.

We, that’s over 140 Holzbau Maier members of staff, united by our love for our craft, our passion for building houses, our quest for quality.

And as masters don’t just grow on trees we give great importance to training apprentices. Over 220 of them have already absolved our training, and today they are real wood professionals.
